5 Ways To Improve Your Diet Routine - Part 2 of 5

Hello Healthizens!
Hope you are already following the tips given in the previous post: Include variety of Vegetables in your Diet

The other points in this series are:
1) Include variety of vegetables in your diet
2) Prefer to have your bowl of Soup, Salad, Curd /Buttermilk before Meals.
3) Munching is good, but only when you munch the right things.
4) Eat a lot of In Season things( fruits and vegetables).
5) All of this should be a component of your meals during the entire day: 
Chapati/  Roti, 1 Big Katori (Seasonal)Vegetable, Dal, Rice, Salad(all seasonal raw veggies, this includes Sprouts too!), Curd/Buttermilk and last but not the least - Fruits

Lets discuss the 2nd point


Prefer to have your bowl of Soup, Salad, Curd /Buttermilk before Meals.

A very general tendency when we eat is - to eat Disproportionately if the meal  tastes good or if our hunger pangs are strong and forget the Salad and Curd/Buttermilk part.

If salads and curd are had before the meal it fills up your stomach with Good Fibres and Healthy Protein respectively, and thus ensuring atleast some good nutrients.

The 2nd benefit is since major portion of the stomach is occupied by these healthy things, the quantity of overall food consumed becomes less.

Salad: Any 1 or a combination of veggies makes a great Salad
Tomato/ Cucumber/ Onion/ Capsicum/ Cabbage/ Green onion/ Green Garlic/ Garlic / Radish/ Half boiled Beetroot/ Steamed or Semi-cooked Sprouts/ Coriander leaves

e.g.: Spinach Salad: Fresh Spinach Fine Cut + lemon juice+ Black pepper, Olive oil/ Mustard oil+ Salt makes a wonderful salad in Winters!

You can try such combinations on your own.
